“Remember when Nate was poor and huddling under a tartan sleeping bag trying to keep warm in the basement of his family’s seized Upper East Side townhouse on Gossip Girl? Well, don’t worry, he isn’t poor anymore because… well, something happened, I’m a little unclear actually.
But maybe these two have something to do with it. TVGuide.com has learned exclusively that Aaron Tveit and Holley Fain have been cast as Nate’s very wealthy cousin Tripp Vanderbilt (nice name, chief!) and his fiancée, Maureen, who is a girl and therefore does not need a last name of her own. Tveit appeared in the Broadway productions of Wicked and Hairspray and the film Ghost Town. Fain most recently appeared on episodes of Lipstick Jungle and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
The posh pair will appear in two upcoming episodes, in which Poor Little Match Boy Nate reconciles with his mother’s powerful family mdash; which, thank God, because this show does not do poor well at all. “
Episode 18: Blair Waldorf’s Day Off (Gossip Girl Season 2)
Episode 18 of Gossip Girl season 2, Blair Waldorf’s Day Off, will be aired either on March 2 or March 9. So I guess it will be a long wait for us fans. Anyway, here’s the synopsis for the said episode:
- Chuck Bass is having trouble dealing with the mystery that was his father and the way in which his spare time was managed.
- Nate Archibald catches Vanessa flirting with another guy, and at a moment of desperation, reluctantly turns to Blair for help.
- Dan Humphrey purposely ignores Serena’s calls and tells Miss Carr that things are beyond complicated between the two of them.
- Meanwhile, Miss Carr chooses not to take her job back at Constance and spends most of her time in an empty apartment with her new fling, who doesn’t seem to be quite grieving from his recent break-up.
- At the same time, Lily and Rufus question where their relationship is going and talk casually about merging their households. Chuck however, is against the idea, and does everything in his power to stop it.

“Forget that ho-hum Oscar nomination. Now Anne Hathaway has something even cooler to brag about: her very own Gossip Girl plot!
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the show is planning a season-ending story line loosely inspired by the actress’ infamous (and fizzled) romance with Italian grifter Raffaello Follieri, who was convicted last October on 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy. In the world of Gossip Girl, Blake Lively’s Serena will play the unsuspecting ingenue who falls for a handsome European socialite — in this case a hunk named Giorgio (casting is under way).
Though she won’t confirm or deny the story’s Hathaway-esque twists, executive producer Stephanie Savage reveals that Serena’s beau is “very well-traveled, part of the global elite. He’s not a brooding artist like Dan or Aaron rose. He’s definitely a grown-up, and that’s something Serena is very attracted to.”

Ugh, I don’t get why the Gossip Girl writers insist on recycling the Blair and Nate storyline. I know that Chace Crawford is gorgeous but the guy can’t simply act so I don’t sense any chemistry between him and Leighton. Anyway, here’s the latest scoop from Kristin of E! Stills for episode 17, Carrnal Knowledge, of Gossip Girl season 2 are already up. The said episode will air on February 2, Monday and not this coming Monday, January 26. If you missed my previous post regarding the synopsis, here it is again:
BLAIR IS IN THE MOOD FOR A LITTLE REVENGE – In
retaliation for not playing by the unspoken rules of Constance Billard,
Blair (Leighton Meester) hatches a plan to bring down her teacher,
Rachel (guest star Laura Breckenridge), and it’s going to be good.
After Chuck (Ed Westwick) wakes up in a hotel and only has a minor
recollection of what happened the previous evening and who he spent the
evening with, Nate (Chace Crawford) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) try to
help him fill in the missing pieces of what is turning out to be an
increasingly intriguing mystery.
Anyway, Carter Baizen is coming back! The actor playing him, Sebastian Stan, is actually Leighton Meester’s (a.k.a Blair Waldorf) real-life boyfriend. The two were recently spotted on the Gossip Girl set.
We always see Leighton and Blake Liveley (a.k.a Serena van der Woodsen) carrying their pet pooch. For a change, here’s Jessica Szohr (Vanessa Abrams) with her canine best friend.

Yesiree, that’s no typo error. Episode 17 of Gossip Girl season 2 is entitled “CaRRnal Knowledge”. I think this is in reference to the new English teacher named Rachel Carr (to be played by Laura Breckenridge). Anyway, the synopsis for said episode is as follows:
Blair devises a plan to bring down a teacher; Chuck wakes up in a hotel with little memory of what happened the previous evening.

So I gather that Blair won’t be successful with her devious plans in episode 16 (as based on the sneak peeks) and what the hell happened to Chuck Bass? Is this the work of his uncle Jack Bass or will Chuck continue his downward spiral? I sincerely hope the writers and producers will not continue with the emo Chuck thing ’cause it depresses me a lot. I feel it’s driving him apart from Blair. Boo hoo!

Leighton Overload!!! Gossip Girl Season 2 Updates (week of December 15, 2008)

Gossip Girl season 2 is on hiatus but fret not, our beloved series will be back on January 5 next year. The title for the 14th episode is “In The Realm of the Basses”. Episode 15 will be called “Gone With the Will” while Episode 16 is “You’ve Got Yale”.
Anyway, a new character will be introduced to the show, Rachel Carr, an idealistic and fresh-faced new English teacher at Constance Billard. She will be portrayed by Laura Breckenridge.
Rachel will be Dan’s new love interest and Blair’s new “enemy”. Queen B and her new teacher will reportedly be sparring with each other. But what I’m looking forward to is the school play that will feature Dan and Blair in the lead roles. I can just picture the two bickering and hurling thinly-veiled insults at each other, hehe.
Kelly Rutherford, a.k.a Lily van der Woodsen, is pregnant with her second child. But the show’s producers decided that her pregnancy won’t be written into series storyline. Here’s Kelly by the way with her husband, Daniel Giersch and son, Hermes.

Summary of Episode 14 and Episode 15 Spoilers (Gossip Girl Season 2)
If the title isn’t enough, then WARNING, MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!! Heads up to Spoiler TV for providing a detailed summary of the casting sides for episodes 14 and 15 of Gossip Girl season 2.
Episode 2.14
Chuck has a hard dealing with his father’s death, and runs away to Bangok. He gets drunk in a bordello there, and his uncle Jack Bass bring’s him back to New York and to a worried Blair.
Jack tells Lily he want to be Chuck’s legal guardian.
Chuck gets in trouble at school smoking hash, Jack, Chuck and Blair attend a meeting with headmistress Queller about this, the headmistress wants to forget the whole incident if Chuck, doesn’t smoke again (in school), but instead he lights up a joint in the office.
Blair defends Serena, Lily and Chuck to the Colony Club an elite group of women Blair wants to joins, but opts out because of their cattiness.
Episode 2.15
Chuck finds out at his father’s will reading that he is the now the CEO of Bass Industries, so that’s why Jack wants to be his guardian! Jack is upset by this. Chuck also agrees that Jack can be his guardian, based on Jack rule of no curfew and that he will allow Chuck to have girls sleep over!
Chuck uses his father’s office to entertain Jessica and Olivia. Dressed in boxers with drugs on the desk, the board arrives for a meeting only to be disgusted, they then leave. We will meet David Schneiderman the head of the board of directors who is obviously suspicious that Bart isn’t working and isn’t surprised by Chuck’s display because of his reputation.
It’s true Lily and Rufus had a son, they try to contact him and meet with an adoption lawyer Miles, but can’t because their son had to register at a search service for them to contact him since it was a closed adoption. Rufus is upset because Lily never told him she was pregnant. Miles agrees though to contact the parents to see if they would be willing to meet with Lily and Rufus.
Miles meets with Lily and Rufus’s son’s adoptive parents, Renee and Chris Rosson. Renee knew the birth mother would eventually want to meet her son. Renee is emotional and can’t agree to meet with Lily and Rufus.
But Chris the adoptive father does, and tells Lily and Rufus about their son Andrew…. Unfortunately, we will never meet him, because….he died in a sailing accident he and his friends jumped in the water, but Andrew was swept away in a riptide. This is why Renee didn’t want to meet them to tell them about it. Chris hands them a newspaper clipping from the accident. Lily is very emotional about the news; she asks if her son was happy. Chris tells her he always smiled. Rufus puts his around around Lily to comfort her. Chris also hands them a plaque with Andrew’s handprint. He made it at school as a child for Mother’s Day and Renee wanted Lily to have it.

In case some of you are not aware yet, episode 12 will be aired on December 1 so no Gossip Girl this coming Monday, November 24. *sniff*
I’ve mentioned in my previous entries that I am so looking forward to this episode since I’m pretty sure there will be lots of Blair and Chuck interactions. *squee* For the episode promo, somebody managed to get a screencap of B and C. Chuck can’t be seen but I’m 100% sure it’s him holding up Blair’s chin. Awwww!
Speaking of Chuck, the actor portraying him, Ed Westwick, was chosen as one of the sexiest men alive by People magazine. Finally, Ed got the recognition he deserves, in my humble opinion.

I hope the writers won’t let us down ’cause I was pretty disappointed with the last 2 episodes. Well mainly because there were no Blair and Chuck scenes but that’s me so to each his/her own I guess. But you know what, I would also love to have more scenes of Blair and Dorota. I really laughed out loud at Dorota’s Britney Spears ringtone, “I’m a Slave 4 U”. Dorota rocks!

With Bart Bass allegedly kicking the bucket soon, a new character will emerge in the series in the form of Bart’s 30-year old brother, Jack. Entertainment Weekly announced that Desmond Harrington will play Jack. The actor is currently seen in another tv series, Dexter.

Moving on…Episode 13 will be titled “Oh Brother Where Bart Thou”. I think this is the episode wherein Bart Bass dies. Judging from the numerous speculations and clues of entertainment columnists, it is safe to say that Bart will be the one to meet his Maker.

Here’s another casting side from Spoiler TV that basically confirmed Bart’s dead. Click click click here to view it. It was not mentioned by the way from what episode it’s taken but some of those who commented think it’s probably episode 14. If you’re too tired too click on the link, basically it introduces the Jack Bass character who happens to be Chuck’s uncle. The “casting side” is pretty bleak and depressing since it talked about Chuck passing out in Bangkok and his uncle found him there and brought him home. When Chuck went back to school, he was caught smoking pot and basically he’s out of control. I wish though that this period of depression and angst in Chuck’s life won’t drive Blair away but solidify their relationship instead. I mean, this is still high school! I don’t want too much drama! Speaking of drama, Jack Bass also wants custody of dear ol’ Chuck. I wonder how Lily will approach this since it was mentioned in the casting side that she’s willing to raise Chuck since he’s her stepson.
Since we’re on depressing topics, here are the pics from the set. They’re obviously filming the funeral scene and we get to see some tense scenes between Chuck and Dan.
Well I don’t want to end this on a depressing note. It makes me sad to see Chuck so sad. As mentioned, I do hope this episode in Chuck’s life will not alienate him from the people he loves, especially Blair! But I’m sure the writers will find a way to make Chuck and Blair’s relationship more meaningful and steadfast. Guess I’ll just put my faith in that.

But things get complicated when Scott needs one of Jenny’s parents to sign a form that allows her to start a company even if she is underaged. When neither of her parents want to sign, Jenny thinks about becoming emancipated. Dan is writing an article about Bart for Vanity Fair. There Might Be Blood

Maybe. Maybe not. Anyway, check out the stills from the 9th episode of Gossip Girl season 2. Title of episode is “There Might Be Blood”, an obvious reference to the Daniel Day-Lewis film, “There Will Be Blood”. Everybody now: “I drink your milkshake!!!”. That being said, I hope this episode is Oscar-worthy.
I’m supposed to be excited right with these C and B pics? Unfortunately, these two will continue with their mind games, etc..If some of the spoilers are to be believed, C and B will hopefully come full circle with their relationship in Episode 12. *oh the agony of waiting!!! LOL* In Episode 12, C and B will meet their 2.0 versions and give them advice. Blair will team up with Chuck 2.0 while Chuck will advise Blair 2.0. No word yet on who were cast as the 2.0 versions of the couple we love. Click here though to take a peek at one of the script dialogue.

Oh boy, there’s no new Gossip Girl episode this week so I’m pretty much bummed out. Nevertheless, here are some stills from the upcoming episode, “New Haven Can’t Wait”, and the episode after that, “Chuck in Real Life”. As some of you may have known, the sixth episode deals with the gang going to Yale and well, Blair and Serena involved in a catfight. Can’t wait for that!

In casting news, Olympian/gymnast Nastia Liukin will be making a cameo role in a future episode of GG:
Former star of The O.C. ,Willa Holland, will play the role of Agnes, a model who Jenny meets while working for Blair Waldorf’s fashion designer-mother, Eleanor Waldorf. She wil suppeosedly be a bad influence to Little J.
Serena will also have a new love interest in the form of Aaron Rose (a major character in the book series), to be played by actor John Patrick Amedori. His role is that of an artist with a philantrophic side.

Anyway, here’s the lovely Leighton Meester at the Entourage Season 5 Premiere. Leighton will appear in the second episode or so and reprise her role as popstar Justine Chapin, a love interest for Adrien Grenier’s Vincent Chase character.
Leighton and Blake will appear by the way in the NBC show 30 Rock in November. They will play as Tina Fey’s classmates in a flashback scene. Pretty interesting!
Real-life couple Blake and Penn are featured in the recent issue of Entertainment Weekly. This is so freaking unfair if you ask me! They should have featured Ed and Leighton on the cover!!!

***Episode 3, The Dark Knight
In a humorous twist, Blair (Leighton Meester) questions the lack of passion in her relationship with Marcus (guest star Patrick Heusinger), while at the same time Chuck (Ed Westwick) appears to have lost his “passion” for any woman other than Blair.
1. Blair and LM are not doing “it”
2. Chuck tries to seduce Blair at a party at her house (Ear-nibbling and hot touches) and asks her to have sex with him and Blair escapes from him all hot and bothered…..
3. LM and Blair (she ’s pretty flustered after her chat with Chuck lol) plan to meet upstairs in her bedroom but Chuck overhears and goes up instead, puts on a British accent and then they have a very long make out scene
4. Chuck & Blair get caught by LM making out, LM punches Chuck, Blair chases LM and kisses him (yuck) and Chuck sees them
5. Chuck tries to hook up with a random girl in his limo, but then realizes he only wants to be with Blair
***Episode 4, The Ex Files
Blair and her “court” interview different girls in order to decide if they’ll be included in their little private group. At school, Dan runs into new student Amanda. They bond over their passion for books. Blair and her friends warn Amanda that hooking up with Dan could be dangerous for her health, socially, emotionally and physically. Blair then tells Amanda that she should join her group.
1. Blair meets with Catherine Mason, Lord Marcus (James) at a restaurant, Vanessa shows up, and leaves looking upset.
2. Chuck and Blair talk at school and their hands touch
3. Blair frightens some new recruits
***Episode 5, The Serena Also Rises

Spotted: Chuck Bass in what seems to be a fraternity hazing of some sort. The cast and crew are shooting at Columbia University right now, which will be passed off as Yale University in the show. As you can see in the book series, it hs always been Blair Waldorf’s dream to study at Yale. Now I think the tv series is tweaking it a bit by having Chuck Bass and Serena van der Woodsen study there as well.

This is pretty “old” but in case you haven’t read it yet, Entertainment Weekly featured a one-page spread of Gossip Girl’s Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester):
Regarding the pic, Leighton Meester explains, “We’re talking about the love that cannot be.”
But despite the roadblocks for Chuck and Blair, Leighton says she is still rooting for the two characters to
get together.
“Nobody understands Blair Waldorf quite like Chuck, and vice versa,” says Meester. “She still has feelings for him. Maybe he made a mistake — who knows right now?”

Aside from Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick (a.k.a Chuck Bass) and Chace Crawford (a.k.a Nate Archibald), the Queen B herself (Blair Waldorf/Leighton Meester) was not spared from leaked personal pictures that were downloaded through the Net.
